No Longer Bored Family Days:
Planting Our Stories

Come for an afternoon of free art-making and urban gardening and celebrate the opening of When You Cut into the Present the Future Leaks Out  at the Old Bronx Borough Courthouse.

Exhibiting artist and educator Lady K Fever uses performance, photography, painting and drawing to create abstract expressive artwork that incorporates traditional font lettering, poetry, and street art techniques weaved with biographic and fantastical imagery. During this free art-making workshop, participants will work together using storytelling, illustration and stencils to create art that explores personal associations and narratives in response to the Old Bronx Borough Courthouse.

Bronx artist Alicia Grullón and the Kelly Street Garden will lead an urban gardening workshop as part of Grullón ‘s project Percent For Green, a social practice piece that looks at green issues, and uses art and people’s experiences to make the conversation around climate change and sustainability accessible to a wider public. Through a hands-on workshop, community members will practice a tangible and easy form of urban gardening and walk away with a self-watering herb garden!

Saturday, April 25, 1:00-4:00pm

No Longer Bored is a program designed for children and families to discover and explore No Longer Empty’s art exhibition through activities centered on inquiry, reflection, creativity and participation. We want children and families to explore the exhibition and develop an appreciation for art together.
