We love The Bronx, the much maligned borough of New York City.
I dare even say that Bronx pride surpasses that of other boroughs.
We have so much to be proud of throughout our history giving birth to so many movers and shakers, artists, music genres, and that’s not even touching upon our beautiful, natural resources.

Ben Wallace-Wells, a writer for New York Magazine wrote a piece called, ‘What is The Bronx, Anyway?’ in which the native Bronxite seems to think we, as a borough lack an identity or have some sort of identity crisis.
He couldn’t be so completely wrong.
From the size of the crowd at the City Island Alehouse Saturday, Feb.7th, you’d think that they were giving away free food.
Oops! …they were.
Despite the snow, ice and frigid temperatures, City Islanders and their friends came by the hundreds to eat, drink and rock and roll, all in celebration of City Island winning the 2014 Curbed Cup Neighborhood of the Year award, sponsored by Curbed, a prominent online magazine serving the real estate industry.

Growing up in New York City is an experience unlike any other. Growing up in the Bronx, in NYC, is an entirely different experience unto itself. There is the good, and there is the bad in it. You will have some amazing experiences, and some that are best forgotten.
Today I will be sharing with you 5 of the most awesome things about growing up in the Bronx, right here in New York City.
As I was taking my morning walk with my dog around Melrose, I noticed that several cherry blossoms and other trees are starting to bloom.

Winter Wonderland in the Bronx Zoo
Yesterday, as I walked over the 145th Street Bridge into Manhattan, I was startled by a deafening roar only to be surprised by hundreds of bikers zooming their way into the Bronx.
Born and raised in the Bronx, Daniel Hauben has painted some of the most wonderful works of art depicting our beloved borough.
His paintings grace the new library at Bronx Community College and now the artist will have his own show starting this weekend on BronxNet.
