Boston Market Coming To Melrose At Triangle Plaza Adding To A Sizzling Commercial Real Estate Market In The Hub

Boston Market has signed a ten year lease for a 2,600 square foot ground floor space at Triangle Plaza in Melrose on 149th Street which is currently under construction.

The $35 million Triangle Plaza is slated to finish construction by Spring of 2015 and already Metropolitan College of New York is on board to move its headquarters to the development and occupying the upper level and a Fine Fare supermarket will be located at Triangle Plaza as well.

Brook House Charity Furniture Auction on Thursday, June 26th

As Brook House Furniture’s 55 years in business in Melrose draws to a close, New York’s largest furniture store will auction off the remaining inventory next Thursday, June 26th. 10% of the proceeds will go to BOOM!Health who will be taking over the building in a 25 year lease as FIRST reported by Welcome2TheBronx.

Everything must go so that BOOM!Health can begin transforming the building into their new headquarters

Billions Spent In Melrose & Surrounding Area in New Construction In Less Than 10 Years

Over $2 billion has poured into the Melrose neighborhood of the Bronx as well as adjacent areas in new construction — whether residential or new commercial — in less than 10 years easily out pacing the entire borough.

The bulk of the money has been centered in the many developments in Melrose such as La Terraza, Boricua College & North Rose Apartments, St Ann’s Terrace, Via Verde as well as the proposed 950 unit La Central Development which is currently estimated at $345 million.

Baron Ambrosia Saves The Day In The Bronx; Rescues Cat Stuck In A Tree 5 Stories High

It all began with a call from my mother around 3:30PM today. A cat was stuck in a tree — 5 stories high right in front of her window.

Penelope the cat had been up there for over 24 hours. Calls to animal control and the New York City Fire Department yielded no results for the residents of Christopher Court in Melrose who had been calling for help.

Set in The Bronx, “El Condado de la Salsa,” the National Puerto Rican Day Parade has hosted this annual cultural event since 1995.

This is an outdoor family affair lined with kiosks from Puerto Rican Comida Tipica (typical food) and arts & crafts to promotional sponsors and musical groups for a fun-filled day of entertainment.

Another Boutique Hotel To Open In Melrose Adding More Lodging Options In The South Bronx

Melrose and The South Bronx are experiencing a boom in the hotel industry.

First the luxury boutique Opera House Hotel opened on 149th street between Brook and Bergen and now coming this fall is the Umbrella Hotel. Located at 681 Elton Avenue between E 153rd & E 154th Streets right off 3rd Avenue, the 7 story building will house 56 rooms with rates varying from $129 – $159 per night said one of the owners and Bronxite, Manny Chadah of AMG Elton LLC.
