I’m looking for FB friends or friends of friends who are passionate about Jennifer Lopez, over-the-top fanatics would be great. The Skype session will be filmed. If interested email me here firstname.lastname@example.org.”
So come on, we know you’re out there. What are you waiting for, hurry up and reach out to Linda!
If there ever was a super fan of Jennifer Lopez, it’s Edgardo Luis Rivera. Edgardo is desperately trying to get the city to name a street near JLo’s Castle Hill home to ‘Jennifer Lopez Way’. He’s even started a petition to the city to do so.
The odds, however, seem against him due to regulations stating that guidelines for street renamings state that the person must be deceased or terminally-ill.
Here’s a list of some of Bronx-related news making the rounds on the internet and in the papers:
The New York Daily News reports that Roberto Clemente State Park will be getting major improvements and upgrades due to damage from Superstorm Sandy.
Chris Crowley of Serious Eats serves up the ‘Ultimate Guide to Buying Italian Ingredients on Arthur Avenue’
Van Nest residents are fed up with a wave of graffiti tagging that has been ‘plaguing’ the neighborhood since the neighborhood is no longer represented by Senator Klein who had a graffiti removal program. The area is now represented by Senator Gustavo who doesn’t have a plan in place for such issues.
The New York Times reports that JLo’s homecoming to The Bronx was long overdue according to fans (including Welcome2TheBronx who was interviewed for this article on Jennifer Lopez and her return).
City Island residents are predicting mayhem and chaos for tomorrow when JLo returns to the Bronx and performs at neighboring Orchard Beach for the first time ever in her hometown in a free concert.
In what is being touted as ‘Giving Back To The Block That Raised Her Up’, JLo will be performing for the first time EVER in the Bronx. Perhaps JLo or her people really ARE reading Welcome2TheBronx. We’ve been the ONLY ones out there that have criticized her for not giving more to the community that she claims made who she is.
As some readers know (and perhaps even she herself does too), I’ve been pretty critical and have written about Bronxite JLo’s, aka Jenny from the Block, aka Jennifer Lopez, lack of truly giving back to the Bronx and borough she is always claiming as being a part of.
Well it appears that we can finally say with confidence that this is no longer the case.
