Speed Dating For Seniors At The Riverdale Y Senior Center!

The yearning and desire to be loved doesn’t diminish with age. Let’s face it, dating is no easy picnic but it can be especially daunting for our elders who are looking for companionship during their golden years. Whether you have lost your spouse or partner to illness, death, or divorce, it’s never that easy to jump into the fray. That’s why the Senior Center at The Riverdale YM-YWHA is putting together a speed dating session for folks 60-75 years of age.

Pet Adoption Event This Saturday at New Beginnings Animal Rescue!

Come one, come all and meet your new furry little friend! New Beginnings Animal Rescue is holding a big adoption event this Saturday January 17th from 1-4PM to help these beautiful, and loving critters find forever homes and someone to give them all the loving they need! Oh and you also get to have some great Morris Perk Coffee which will be privately sponsored by a kind donor!

WALLWORKS NEW YORK Official Gallery Launch This Saturday

After a soft launch this past September and with several exhibitions since then, WALLWORKS NEW YORK in Port Morris will officially launch their gallery tomorrow, Saturday, January 10th at 6PM with the exhibition ‘Ikonoclasts’ featuring the works of the late trio of graff artists, A-One, Dondi, and Rammellzee.

2nd Annual Bronx Gentrification Conference At The Bronx Documentary Center

A little over a year ago in December of 2013, the Bronx Documentary Center held its first ever Gentrification Conference (which received heavy media attention from NY1, Jeremiah’s Vanishing New York, TimeOut New York, Gothamist, DNAinfo, and The Daily News.

During that first initial conference, we talked about the many issues and pending developments in The Bronx. Now this year’s conference will be solution-oriented focused on the issues surrounding the controversial topic.

If you are a Bronx resident and cannot purchase a ticket in advance, there will be a total of 15 tickets at the door exclusively for Bronx residents ONLY and will be available at a discount of $7.
