As Westerners, we often look at the practice of child brides and marriages as archaic and barbaric, yet this harmful practice continues across the globe and is still accepted by members of their respective societies.
This Saturday, January 18th at the Bronx Documentary Center, ‘Too Young to Wed‘ opens giving us a candid look at this practice through the eyes of journalist Stephanie Sinclair, who has been not just a storyteller for these often voiceless girls and women but an advocate for ending this practice.
The exhibition contains photographs by Sinclair and short videos by Jessica Dimmock and is organized in conjunction with UNFPA (United Nations Population Fund) and VII Photo.
